Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Adampur Air Force Station on Tuesday, where he addressed air warriors and soldiers in a powerful interaction highlighting India’s military strength and commitment to national security. The Prime Minister praised the valor and professionalism of the armed forces, emphasizing their role in securing an unequivocal victory against terrorism and hostile forces during the recent Operation Sindoor.

India strikes deep into Pakistan in Operation Sindoor

In his remarks, Prime Minister Modi declared that Operation Sindoor was a resounding success, resulting in the precise elimination of terrorist targets deep inside Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. He affirmed that this mission not only destroyed multiple terror hubs but also dealt a decisive blow to the Pakistan Army, which had been providing cover to militant groups. The operation, he said, shattered the infrastructure of cross-border terrorism and demonstrated India’s capability to strike with speed, precision, and purpose.

Modi reiterated that the slogan “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” is not a mere chant but a solemn vow taken by every soldier defending the nation. He noted that during the operation, the bravery and coordination among the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force became a symbol of national unity and military synergy. The Prime Minister remarked that India’s armed forces executed targeted strikes with surgical precision, destroying enemy facilities and neutralizing over 100 terrorists in their hideouts.

He highlighted that the strikes, carried out across the Line of Control and into Pakistani territory, dismantled both terrorist bases and key air defense systems used to shield militant infrastructure. The operation also targeted logistical hubs and communication lines, dealing a significant blow to the enemy’s operational capabilities. Modi confirmed that all objectives were accomplished without civilian casualties, underlining the discipline and professionalism of the Indian military.

The Prime Minister emphasized that India’s military response was based on clear principles swift retaliation, strategic clarity, and zero tolerance for terror. He affirmed that the nation will no longer distinguish between terrorist masterminds and the governments that support them, declaring that any future attack will be met with decisive force. Modi stated that India’s military action was not only justified but necessary to protect its citizens and sovereignty.

Commending the technological edge of the Indian Armed Forces, PM Modi pointed to the use of advanced indigenous systems like Akash and modern platforms such as the S-400. He noted that India’s enhanced air defense shield successfully repelled multiple retaliatory attempts by Pakistan, ensuring complete protection of Indian airbases and strategic assets. The success of Operation Sindoor, he said, stands as proof of India’s growing defense capabilities and readiness to meet any threat.

Concluding his address, the PM Modi stated that this is a new India an India that seeks peace but will act decisively when provoked. He acknowledged the courage and sacrifice of the armed forces and reaffirmed the nation’s unwavering commitment to remain vigilant, resilient, and prepared. He called on soldiers to maintain their readiness and spirit, emphasizing that India will always stand strong against those who threaten its peace and integrity. – By MENA Newswire News Desk.

Wall Street rises after Treasury expands debt buybacks

    August 20, 2026

U.S. stocks ended modestly higher Wednesday as long-term Treasury yields fell sharply. The S&P 500 rose 16.22 points, or 0.21%, to 7,707.98, ending a three-session losing streak. The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 119.65 points, or 0.22%, to close at 53,463.05. The Nasdaq Composite added 41.38 points, or 0.16%, finishing at 26,331.09. Falling government bond yields helped major indexes recover after several sessions of pressure from rising borrowing costs. Bond prices climbed after the U.S. Treasury Department announced larger liquidity support buybacks for longer-dated government debt. Starting September 9, the maximum purchase size will increase from $2 billion to at least $4 billion per operation. The change covers nominal coupon securities in the 10-to-20-year and 20-to-30-year maturity sectors. The increased amounts will remain in effect through November 4. The department said strong volumes of high-quality offers supported the decision to increase liquidity operations in those sectors. Treasury yields moved lower following the announcement, reversing part of a recent rise in long-term borrowing costs. The 10-year Treasury yield fell to about 4.65%, while the 30-year yield declined to about 5.20%. The 30-year yield had reached 5.337% on Tuesday, its highest level since 2007.
